Hi everyone! So many things have been happening!
Let’s start with the important stuff – I’ve done some massive updates to my website! Please check out my brand new Educating page to learn more about my public speaking, teaching and writing abilities! It brings me tremendous joy to empower others by sharing knowledge via speaking, teaching and writing. The best part is, I inevitably learn a ton from those I teach as well!
In addition to detailing my education efforts, I updated the main page and my CV, added my latest research and clinical work, and also added that fancy Twitter widget you see to the right!
That’s right I have finally joined Twitter (better late than never, right?), so please follow me to make sure you receive all the updates about my goings-on!
Speaking of goings-on, my last few months have been quite busy! I’m thrilled to be now attending the Ph.D. program in clinical psychology at the California School of Professional Psychology at Alliant International University! I’m absolutely loving school!
In addition, this summer I was honored to co-present (with Dr. Keely Kolmes and Dr. Richard Sprott) a four-hour continuing education workshop on clinical work with kink-oriented clients at the American Psychological Association’s annual convention in beautiful Honolulu. The workshop had a full house and was a resounding success! After that I hopped over to Kauai for five of the most breathtakingly beautiful days of my life!
I’ve got some pretty exciting developments in the works, which I’m hoping to be able to share with all of you soon! In the meantime, it’s back to the books for me…..
Freedom Community is a loosely organized, worldwide community dedicated to expanding personal and relational freedom, as well as improving communication and individual betterment.
I was honored to be asked to speak at this year’s World Symposium, and decided to present on the ways in which our dominant American culture influences how we conceptualize and create our relationships, and then offered my thoughts on how we can break out of those culturally-bound molds through more honest and effective communication.
Please please click here to download the slides with my embedded speaking notes! It is also listed on my Educating page.
Being around such an incredibly diverse and positive community was tremendously inspiring, and it was very rewarding to contribute to a group so dedicated to pushing against the cultural walls which inhibit our freest and most loving expression as individuals and as a society.
I am happy to announce that a guest blog post I wrote for my friend and colleague Dr. Keely Kolmes has been posted! It concerns my recent experience presenting on polyamory at the National Multicultural Conference and Summit. Keely’s website is packed full of extremely useful information on sexual minorities, digital media ethics and more. Check out my guest post here:
Let me know what you all think!
